In 2018 I reached my lowest weight by doing way too much cardio, obsessing over food, and not eating enough to nourish my body. - In 2018, I also gained back 20 pounds. I used to be so down on myself because I regained. I’ve gotten to a place where I’m actually happy I regained. I’ve started to think of food as fuel, not the enemy. I realized that when I’m craving pizza, I’m actually craving overeating. I have gotten so much STRONGER with this 20 pound gain. I’m glad it happened because it forced me to better understand my body, it’s needs, and it’s capabilities. When I started losing weight, I thought I had to eat 1200 calories a day and do an hour of cardio. Now, I understand that I don’t have to diet like that. I’ve become more educated in how to have a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Progress is a process and I’m just happy that I have been able to learn from my weight loss experience and to work on remedying the unhealthy habits I have with food. - I wanted to update this photo because recently it has been bothering me that this is the photo that receives the most engagement on my account. When I took the 2018 photo, I was so proud of my physical changes, but now, in 2019 I am so much happier with the progress I’ve made mentally. I would’ve never thought I would lose the weight as quickly as I could! I thought I would be over weight and out of shape after pregnancy but I had bigger and better plans for myself and how I wanted to see myself! This week I have approached each day in the below 5 ways, to help me stay calm & keep my spirits high while working my to do list: 1) Surrendering into this change in pace. I have decided to embrace and say yes to this huge change created by covid19 . Some affirmations have been "I will take things step by step & Minute by minute". " What's for me is for me". And "all will be well". 2) Took in some flowers, trees, birds, and other picturesque scenery at @unccharlottegardens . Even picked some fresh honeysuckle flowers. Visit on a weekday like Monday or Tuesday when no one else is there. 3) Crafted a batch of honeysuckle flower essence. Great for emotional stress, sadness, difficulty dealing with change, especially if nostalgic for how life used to be. Hint hint. Our current situation due to covid19. 4) Turned off the TV and listened to Sandra Ingerman's "Awakening To The Spirit World" audio book while winding down for bed. 5) Even gave myself a Reiki energy session focusing on my solar plexus & heart chakras. I’ve been consumed with working out and transformation since I was an insecure 15 year old trying to get in shape for football. Fast forward to Stony Brook University where I earned my bachelors in American History. My roommates opened @portcrossfit and I decided to get my CrossFit Level 1 cert. That is when I fell in love with coaching and guiding others in their own transformation. I continued at SBU completing an MBA in marketing. Coaching CrossFit during the week and working for event planners shout out @patglennproductions on the weekend. Those days of training CrossFit competitively, waking up at 5am to coach, and working 12 hour days on the weekend. It all allowed me to follow my passion.
