Quarantined at home? Me too! And I’m really trying hard to ignore all those pervasive online ads. Anyone else feel like online retailers are working harder than ever to tempt you into buying their merchandise?
I was a real sucker for online shopping for most of my 20s, that free shipping got me all the time! But not anymore. So how’d I finally stop? ⬇️
1️⃣ Unsubscribe from store emails, it’s not worth the coupons, PROMISE! If you actually need something, download @rakuten or @honey they’ll find coupons for you w/o obnoxious daily emails. Apps like @unrollme can help you unsubscribe from lots of emails all at once.
2️⃣ Don’t make it easy for yourself when you’re browsing, delete your saved credit card info from websites. If you really need something get off your couch and find your wallet, 9/10 times that deters me lazy.
3️⃣ Shopping online isn’t bad, but overspending or buying things you don’t need can really take its toll on your budget. So if you come across something you really want, write it down and revisit your list periodically and ask yourself, do I still want this? If you do, budget for it, use your spending money and buy it.
