Shoutout to all the sushi fans out there, this place is a must!! We ordered toro nigiri, tobiko (flying fish roe) with quail egg yolk, ikura (salmon roe) with quail egg yolk, shiro roll (half), chop scallop shiso roll, & inari nigiri 🤤 •
The tobiko & ikura with quail egg yolks are the essence of the whole meal 😍 I prefer tobiko since it is less salty yet crunchier than ikura. I would recommend putting the whole piece into that drooling mouth (yasss!!) and eating from the top of it. As such, we can feel the egg melting and the fatness of those fresh yolks harmonizing with the crunchiness of fresh tobiko/ikura. All of which combines with lightly sour & sweet rice wrapped by crispy seaweed to give the greatest delight! 🤤 •
The scallop roll is decent and the Japanese Basil filled inside is wayy too flavorful 😍😍😍 Minus point for the roll is that although I can still taste the freshness of scallop, it is not at all significant 😢 •
The shiso roll is, well, not something I would recommend 😢 There are salmon, tuna, & kanpachi stuffed inside. And they’re all very fresh!! Yet serving it as a roll kinda blinds your taste to all of these essences 😭 •
Still, it is a must-try! Don’t let the low-key outlook of the place push you away from this high-key sushi!! And, order the sashimi to understand what the definition of freshness is! 🥰 • 📍Sushi by Yuji, 2252 Kingsway, Vancouver, B.C. •sushi sushi🍣 sashimi nigiri japan eggs sushitime🍣 japanesefood japanese japanstyle sushilover food foods foodie foodphotography foodporn foodblogger foodstagram foodlover foodstyling fooddiary foodart foodislove johnwick salmon fish vancouverfoodie vancouver asian fusion
