ARE "POSITIVE VIBES ONLY" KILLING YOUR ABILITY TO PROGRESS? 🧐 ⠀⠀ Story time 💬 ⠀ I played soccer the majority of my life and attribute a lot of my ability to stay dedicated to what I learned during those years. ⠀⠀ I played on many teams with a wide range of coaching styles. The majority of them were super supportive, high-five 🖐🏼, "great job" coaches - win or lose. And they were wonderful people. ⠀⠀ But the most successful, talented team I played on? ⠀⠀⠀⠀ That coach was this INSANE, no-bs dude from England who made us run sprints when we didn't wear the right color socks that day 🧦 (we even had a uniform code for practices). ⠀⠀⠀ He told us when we played like 💩 and benched us when we started making excuses. And when we played well? He told us that too. And you knew it was REAL and he wasn't just saying it to make us feel good about ourselves. ⠀⠀⠀ There were days I truly hated him haha. But you know what? I improved the most during my time with him and that team. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the age of social media influence and on demand information, we have the ability to personally curate what we feed our minds. 🧠 In essence, we get to pick our "coaches" every single day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I used to feel that I had to constantly provide "its okay content". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📣 "It's okay to do X - still love yourself! You're doing great!" ⠀⠀⠀ 📣 "It's okay that you keep making excuses - don't be so hard on yourself!" ⠀⠀⠀ But in a world saturated with that, I've found that it's simply not me 🤷‍♀️, and that I have started pulling away from people who ONLY preach positivity. ⠀⠀⠀ Does it have its place? Absolutely. ⠀⠀⠀ But if your goal is growth and progress, you need to be real with yourself. ⠀⠀⠀ 👉🏼 Do you need a cheerleader or a coach? There are times for both. ⠀⠀⠀ Do you need someone to tell you for the 100th day in a row that you're "doing the best you can"? Or do you need someone who's going to call you out and not let you lie to yourself, so that you can actually achieve the goals you say you want to achieve? ⠀⠀⠀ Evaluate where you're at. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Be honest with yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Then pick your "coaches"/mental intake accordingly. ⠀⠀⠀ Tough love is still love, too. 🖤

CIRCUIT BREAKER STAIRCASE CHALLENGE! If you have access to a stairwell (isolated / safe distancing appropriate) - please join me in conquering it everyday while we’re in circuit breaker mode. I’m setting myself a mini challenge to run up 2000 stairs (100 storeys!) by the end of Challenge 26. My entire 20’s I was a mess - I ain’t gonna lie!My identity was lost and no where to be found, I hid my anger and sadness, I had no self control, I felt alone and didn’t think I’d ever become anything important or have anything to offer! Last thing I ever thought I’d be is a mom.... I lacked in belief within myself, little to no self control, I pretended everything was ok when on the inside I was screaming for my life to change! I hated my reflection in the mirror so much I would cry when I saw my reflection and not just bc of my appearance but bc of the person I was. I felt trapped in a body and mindset that was drowning! All I can say is thank God one night I prayed in my car for my life to turn around! I said. “ God I seriously need to be punched in the face so I can become something... ANYTHING..but this is not my life- can you please save me” - not two seconds later did this lady come on 99.9 explaining my exact story but she was way older than me..: she was talking about how when she was in her twenties she prayed for her life to change and she was so glad she did bc she couldn’t believe all that had changed in her life. And then the song “Mirror” came on from Michael Jackson and I just began to cry like I never have.....Fast forward time.... I was punched in the face 🤷🏻‍♀️ and little by little my whole world turned upside down! Fast foward some more time I was baptized and born again... fast foward some more time I had this non stop tug to better my health which well for sure I needed as I was in terrible heart health amongst other things... my mind began to think more positive - God started placing new people in my life and removing many of the ones I had in it.. but one of the best moments besides my church and my baptism was having the opportunity with Beachbody! Man the community and the friendships I made were incredible! It opened so many doors! I wound up joining a power of I am personal development group that completely impacted me from the inside out! I am in the best health I have ever been and it only gets better! I seriously could write a book of what Beachbody has given me and offered me! I have had so many twist and turns in my journey..

Check in/real talk time 🌟 Where I expected to be: 3 weeks out from my @wbff_aust debut Where I am: 25 weeks out, and 3 weeks into a poorly controlled reverse diet. Calories: should be 1800, no idea what they actually are because of all my binges but if I had to guess I’d say on average 2200 Training: should be 5-6x weekly, actually 3-4 Steps: should be 12k daily, hitting 8-12k Weight: miraculously holding steady, only up around 1kg from the end of my cut. . I broke down to my beautiful coach yesterday because I feel like I’m failing. I had two good days and then lost it again yesterday. My self control has gone out the window with everything going on, and feelings I haven’t felt for several years are creeping in and I’m eating to avoid them (or something, idk, I’m not a psychologist). . @emily_kingbodies reminded me that I am human and I deserve forgiveness from myself and that all I can do is try my best each day. Em, thank you for being so patient and gentle with me, I honestly would be far more lost without you. . So. New day. Fresh start. Again. And if I fail today, tomorrow is another chance to get it right. And so is every day after that until I start to feel like myself again.

Knowing myself, this would be a perfect time to eat whatever I want because I have extreme anxiety ....I am an extreme stress eater ...But some reason I have decided to use this time as an opportunity to reset my mindset 🤣, and come out of quanrantine looking like a whole snack and a half .....soo please don't cancel summer yet !!!!
