Ever since I started running 4 years ago, I’ve had people telling me OHH you run because you have time or because you have a nice life and don’t have as many problems as we do. Others say ... we can run, but we are waiting for this thing to end or for the weather to get better or for the hustle at work to calm down. The answer in my head was alway: you will NVER FUCKING run as long as you’re keeping this mentality and that attitude There will NEVER be a time when you will feel like running or when you have “enough time” to run It’s tough, your brain will never ask you to do it, so unless you shut that fucking voice inside your head and put your shoes on and run, you will never run my friend. Begin your Monday with the Warrior 1 pose! Begin with the mountain pose (Tadasana) Exhale deeply and jump into a position where your feet are around 4 feet apart. Raise your arms so they are parallel to each other and draw your hands towards the ceiling. Firm your shoulder blades against your back and draw them down towards your coccyx. Turn your left foot from 45 to 60 degrees to the right. Your right foot should be at a right angle, facing towards the right. Then align your right heel with your left heel. Exhale deeply. Begin to rotate your torso to the right, squaring the from to your pelvis as much of possible. Ground your left heel. Continue to draw your coccyx downwards, this time towards the floor, and arch your upper back to wherever is comfortable for you. Algin your right knee over your right ankle so your shin is perpendicular to the floor. Inhale deeply and reach to the sky with your arms, lifting the ribcage away from the pelvis. If comfortable , bring your palms together, really feeling the upward stretch run through your body. Tilt your head back and look up at your thumbs. This pose works well for 30 seconds to a minute. To release the pose, inhale and straighten your right knee and turn your feet forward, releasing the arms when you are ready. Repeat with the other leg. When you are ready to finish the pose, return to Tadasana.
