Poor little Leo still doesn’t feel good today. He has had two doses of lactulose but still hasn’t pooped yet, and has a big solid belly.
He just had a nice warm bath to freshen up, which also tends to relax his bowels. As soon as he hit the water he started pushing, but nothing came out. Poor guy!
After yesterday’s visit, I was left a little frustrated by some things, and not entirely happy about the visit, diagnosis, and treatment.
So I have scheduled mr Leo in for a second opinion/follow up exam at a cat clinic next week. They’re obviously more expensive, but they’re more in-tune with cats in particular, and can provide all scans and exams in house if needed.
Before you all ask - yes I am very familiar with nova cat clinic, I used them for years. But no, it’s not there. I could not get him seen by my chosen doctor(s) there for weeks, which is too long, so we are trying a different one. .
I want to give him a week on his medication first, so that they can observe his progress.
If he goes downhill, he will of course be taken in sooner. .
Side note - the receptionist said “oh orange tabbies are my weakness”, which literally every single person at the other vet said too.
I didn’t realise they were THAT popular. Black cats are my weakness 🖤
