Milos first camping trip!
Part 5: Kayaking!
Miloâs first time out on the open water! So first off, I love this life jacket, it fit him really well and he can still walk around with it on! I also like that it has the neck float, as I wasnât sure if or how well milo could swim, didnât want to test it in these cold mountain waters though!
So It was a bit difficult doing this alone, as I had to carry the kayak and gear down a ways to the water and come back for milo who had to wait in the car, but we managed! At first milo was quite scared and as youâll see in the 2nd picture, he ended up hiding his face inside my life jacket (which he usually does when heâs scared or uncomfortable- he did this with his first car ride too), but eventually he got used to being on the water and became more curious, he even put his paw in the water to test it out ð¸
We also came across some geese and he was super interested in those guys!
I had initially set up a bed for him behind me on the kayak for him to lay, but I didnât end up letting him wander back there as I was worried he might jump in the water and swim to shore. Next time when I have someone else with me maybe?
All in all he was super brave and we plan to do many more trips! Who knows, maybe heâll love it and start swimming!? ð¸
And the views were just spectacularðð¼
