Take care of yourself. Easier said than done. As parents and carers we put all our energy into taking care of the person or people we love who cannot care for themselves independently due to their disabilities. We know that we would do anything to make life easier for them and give them the best quality of life they can possible have. We also need to take care of ourselves. Don’t ever feel guilty about having a little time for yourself to recharge your batteries. In order to do this job, you need your health and happiness and you can only do this by having some ‘you time.’ This doesn’t need to be anything extravagant, like Spa days and weekend always, particularly if you are doing the role of mum/dad/carer and everything in between! Please make sure though that you give yourself an hour a day to do something for you... 1) Switch off from Social Media for an hour and read a few pages of a book everyday 2) Have a nice bubble bath and play some chilled music 3) Have a full, hot cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate and drink it all! 4) Consider learning a new skill that you can do at home - knitting, crafts, drawing/painting... you may find you’re pretty good at it! Like this treatment in all areas in life you need to take risks in order to get the reward you desire.. 😃😃.. For example you may take a risk in your work life by starting ur own business, new career or applying for a promotion. You may need to do it to get the job satisfaction that you deserve. 😀😀.. These days it’s near impossible for people to take a picture of themselves looking forward. What I mean by that is that it’s a common feature in selfies and even portraits to angle the face, getting more of a side profile. I’ve caught myself doing this more often because it was more ‘flattering’ but I’ve also grown sick of taking the same angle photo time and time again. Monday’s are for rest days. At least that’s what my schedule says. It’s my first day of my work weekend and it’s meant for catching up on sleep, getting lots of fun time with my kiddo and relaxing with my husband in the evening. ❤️ Though today is my “rest day” mostly because I have no way of getting to the gym, I still make sure I get a good total body stretch and a little core work done. I’ve neglected time devoted to strengthening my core BUT core work can easily be done from the comfort of my own home. So.... Monday’s it is. It’s back to school time for kiddos! For me, I have a few more weeks of leave but it will come up fast. . This time of year can be stressful for many and anxiety can increase for kids going back to school. One way to keep it under control is to have a good bedtime routine established. This is helpful for babies, kids, and adults alike. Keeping a routine decreases the stress hormone cortisol and allows for more restful sleep and improved mood the next day. . Ours includes taking a walk around the neighborhood at 6, bath time and jammies at 7, last feeding at 7:30, and reading a story or singing a song before putting her down for the night. . For school aged kids, getting everything for school packed up and ready and laying out clothes the night before can decrease stress the next morning. . “Be the change you wanna see in the world” • I know I’m not the only one who has complained about others but yet haven’t looked at their self. 99.9% of the time IF your complaining about someone else issues, they are usually things about your own self. I remember talking about someone before and how they are so gossip, then all of a sudden I realized we were gossiping about her. I don’t like when people are rude to me, so today I don’t be rude to them. I don’t like when people gossip about me, so I don’t gossip about others. I don’t like when people litter, so I don’t litter. You can’t say I wish someone wouldn’t be this or that way and then be that way yourself. Next most of these things are so unhealthy acts anyways. You have to treat your mind with kindness and love. Change your thinking and you will change your life. Changing your thinking just a little will alter the course of your life dramatically. • Be your true self, unless your true self is an asshole. Then - be someone else. • Forgive - we all know what it’s like to be human? We know what mistakes are like and how easy they are to make. So my new philosophy is I forgive everyone who’s wronged me. So much hate in the world, I don’t want to make anymore of it AND holding on to hate is only hurting yourself. It’s like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. We cannot live genuinely when we’re harboring unforgiveness in our heart. Why? Because it clouds how we see life and how we choose to live each day.  Even more, it adds a filter to our interactions that keeps us guarded. We withhold. And we begin to respond in counterfeit ways, careful to measure our words and manage our responses. Friend, it takes real courage to forgive. It can bring up fears, and sometimes it takes every bit of oomph you can muster to extend that kind of unwarranted grace. • I live my life so differently now, I like to look at every angle to every situation and I like to try and do what’s right even if it’s hard because that’s the change I would love to see in the world.

Summer heat, how I hate you so! After a great morning brunch with my girl gang bestie goodgirl213 I realized while talking to her how inspiring people can be (Ryn being one of them) as many of you know, I've struggled with the death of my brother in a different way then many. I try my best, but it's a personal daily struggle. I resorted to bad habits and then back on track then back to bad habits Since I have experience in the mental health field, I decided to work on myself. That's what started yesterday. I don't like to speak too much on my own personal struggles except with the death of my brother because my Instagram was not for my own personal issues, but rather to help others. I've been detoxing lots of negativity from my life and will continue to do so. Thanks to Ryn today for opening my eyes to see that positivity can come out when you let go of things holding you back. And detoxing can be drug related, food related, and alcohol related and we must learn to support others when they're going through such events as detoxing.
