We had already decluttered our budget in January, did a no spend in February and was lowkey most of March. This quarantine is just a continuation of all the things weve already been doing. Our budget reflects that. Our variables say 1000 but realistically it'll probably be around 700. In addition we got a tenant! This is the last month that we pay 780 towards the mortgage of our rental property. We spent about 9k in repairs over the last 6 months preparing for a tenant in adittion to the mortgage. This should free up some money next month. How has your budget changed this month?

A bit late to the party with this one but a little update for you all. Given the current climate, I am realising more and more how important an Emergency Fund (EF) is. I live at home and have an ongoing position at work so I am very lucky that way but you never know what could happen. So my goal is to build my EF to $2,000. This isn't just an April goal but will be achieved over a few months. I have put in about $100 to my EF so far. . I am also looking at purchasing a car in the next year or so. I have spoken before about my old Volvo being on its last legs. I still haven't decided whether I will get a new or 2nd hand car but I will be weighing up all my options. I am most likely going to have a loan for this new car and so I am building up some money so the loan can be as little as possible. I've contributed about $200 to my car fund this month so far. . The 'Challenge' portion of this refers to the $10,000 challenge inspired by @shesonthemoneyaus . I am hoping to complete two $10,000 challenges this year. I've already completed this goal by transferring $1,000 yesterday! . . . . . . . . . . .projectbetteryou healthylifestyle daveramsey payday motivational savingsjourney budget barefootinvestor studying cashflow envelopesystem finance investor stockbrocker investing ladyinvestor younginvestor housedeposit stockmarket automatedsavings motivation accountability financialfreedom dfc debtfree debtfreecommunity wellness inspirationdaily moneygoals aprilgoals

Teaching The Stealthy Rich Jrs while they are young....... . Want your kids to learn basic financial principles at a young age? . Involve them in your daily activities that lead to opportunities to discuss money, spending, budgeting, etc. . The Stealthy Rich take their kids to the grocery store often. The Jrs get a a piece of the list and the local store is nice enough to give them cute little carts to stack their treasures. . This Jr was tagged with getting BBQ sauce and a few other things, but he ran into a small issue. . We've taught The Stealthy Rich Jrs not to shop on price alone, but on the bottom left corner of every price label there is another little gem.... The price per ounce, pound, or whatever the unit the product comes in. . Based on that serious business stare, it looks to me that his favorite flavor may not be the flavor with the lowest price per ounce. . A while back, the older Jr had to plan and shop for a meal with a group of friends for a project. . He came home a little frustrated because his group decided to buy a more expensive name brand item while he tried to convince the group to buy a cheaper generic brand of the same item. . This brought us to another lesson on intentionality. The cheapest is not always the best, and it's ok to spend more on something that is important to you as long as you understand this principle and cut ruthlessly on the expenses that are not important to you. . Just be careful not to teach them everything you know, because you'll end up finding fake roaches (cut out of paper) under your wife's bedside lamp shade. . Imagine turning that lamp on in the dark. It never gets old. . Stay Stealthy my friends. . thanks @classicdadmoves . Keeping the Motivation and Good Vibes High ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ *** ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One idea that I’ve been seeing thrown around a lot lately is that people feel like their lives are on pause right now, indefinitely. Their routines and things they did for fun are all out of wack and they no longer feel like themselves. . . For awhile, I felt like this myself. I was no longer commuting to work, I couldn’t study at coffee shops like I normally would, and I couldn’t go to the gym. I’m a person that thrives on being on the go and once I wasn’t I felt my motivation slipping. . . However, the thing is our lives aren’t actually on pause. Time is still passing regardless and while this is a good reminder to slow down every now and again, there’s also no point in not living this portion of our lives to the fullest. . . 💥 Take this time to be productive and learn something new. Read that book that’s been sitting on your nightstand for a year. Try to do at least one thing a day that makes you happy and like your lives not on pause. . . And this thing doesn’t have to be work. There’s nowhere that it says we have to work 24/7 just because we have the time and we’re stuck at home. It could be binging your favorite show or having virtual happy hours with your friends. . . It doesn’t matter what you do to keep your good vibes high during this time, just that it keeps you from wishing these weeks (or months who the heck knows) of your valuable life away. . . Comment below one thing you’re doing to stay positive and present during this crazy time. 👇🏼 . .onlinecoach financecoach onlineentrepreneur budgeting finance savings debt moneygoals moneymanagement debtfree debtpayoff postgrad millennials sinkingfunds emergencyfunds goodvibes

Took me YEARS to figure this little known investing secret and I don't want that to happen to you. Success Leaves Clues and this is the 2 principles that Warren Buffett has been talking about for 50 over years! Ironically, many deviate from these 2 rules and start losing money when the success formula is right under their nose. Keep it simple and focus on these 2 principles. These are TIMELESS principles and will bring you far! Tag a friend who has these 2 principles!

Our April PF goals and an update on our March goals 💕 __ Here are the new ones from last month: . ▫️We recently filed our taxes which means we should be receiving our tax refunds soon. Combined, we'll get about $4K. We'll contribute all these to our @wealthsimple investment accounts 💰 . ▫️I'll receive my bonus this April. $2K will go directly to our car fund 🚗 . ▫️I am trying to temporarily suspend my auto insurance since I don't really need it right now due to the quarantine. I've contacted my insurance and leasor and waiting for their response. Hoping they'd approve 🙏 . ▫️I created personal finance printables and I'm planning to sell it on @etsy 📝 . ▫️Dashboard How-to. This is the one I'm struggling with the most. I can't seem to find motivation to complete this. I tried filming and I feel discouraged because I find myself making a lot of errors 😩 __ I realize I've set a lot of goals for this month 🙊. If I complete half of them I'd be happy. I'm trying not to put too much pressure on myself since I've been feeling kinda drained lately, but I still want to put it out there for reference 😅 __ Anyway, I hope you all are doing well. Here’s the latest update on how this virus has affected my finances. I got fired and then rehired the day I filed for unemployment 😬. Now that I’m expecting a paycheck, the money I was rolling over for next month is going to get saved in my 3 month Emergency Fund. ⠀⠀ I’m also saving more money by spending less on food and gas. ⠀⠀ (Side note: I primarily budget in Google sheets and use my budget calendar to make sure I don’t miss anything. Meaning I don’t readjust my budget by hand, I let the formulas do their job 😊) ⠀⠀

Every year I set a goal to read more books but I have never been much of a reader except for like Harry Potter when I was a kid. I put this book on my library’s hold list a while ago and finally it was my turn to check it out. I downloaded it on my iPad two days ago and I really couldn’t stop reading it. I’m about halfway through which really again I’m shook because I don’t read books. I read articles, blogs, listen to podcasts but books ain’t my thing. • What books are you currently reading? ❗ Important Info ❗⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - You do not need to apply to receive a stimulus check.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - $1,200 will be given to individual taxpayers, $2,400 will go to married couples filing jointly, and families will receive an additional $500 per qualifying child under the age of 17. Those numbers apply to individuals with adjusted gross income (AGI) up to $75,000, married couples filing jointly with AGI up to $150,000 and heads of households with AGI up to $112,500. Keep in mind that AGI will be based on your 2019 tax return, or 2018 if you haven’t filed yet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -If your income suddenly drops this year due to unemployment, or much lower hours or gigs than you worked the year prior, you’ll be able to claim the stimulus on your 2020 tax return. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -Stimulus checks will be direct deposited into the bank account listed on 2019 tax returns (or 2018, if you have yet to file for last year). If no bank account is listed on either return, the IRS will send a physical check to your most recent address on file.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -Stimulus checks likely won’t be seized to pay a tax debt. The only time they will be withheld is when an individual owes child support money.

💁🏼‍♀️ Some Big ‘Xero’ Changes are coming...⠀ ⠀ 💭 All the way back in February (let’s be honest, the landscape has changed so much in the last week, going to a mass gathering to talk about all things Xero seems like a lifetime ago!) Jo and I attended Xero Roadshow, an annual ‘What’s New’ at Xero and a preview of what’s to come with the apps we love to work with.⠀ ⠀ And I have to say, some big changes are coming!!! These changes that are coming will streamline the way we communicate with our clients, Xero users and for Xero Tax bookkeepers and accountants.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Currently, at the end of a BAS period, I am sure you will all know you receive a few emails from us (and you read them…right?😜) including your BAS paperwork and then again with your end of period Management Reports.⠀ ⠀ Well soon, we will be able to wrap all of these up in one TIDY PACKAGE! delivered to you and not making you feel like we’re bombarding you with emails! Yay!!!⠀ 🥳This makes numbers-nerds like me super excited that it’s one more way we can be more efficient and well presented in the way we communicate with our clients! Sounds great, doesn’t it!? 🤓🤓🤓⠀ ⠀ To read more about Xero updates watch this space!⠀ ⠀ You can also head over to our blog www.alluviafinancial.com/blog/xeroroadshow2020 ⠀ ⠀ While you’re there, you’ll find resources, tips, insights and updates from the A-TEAM! ⠀ ⠀ - Jess from The A-Team ✌️

🗓December 2017💻 • • • I was often the last person to leave Starbucks back then... I would leave my 8-5 corporate america job get home take off that suit, eat and relax for an hour or so and then go to starbucks and work EVERYDAY...I spent my lunch breaks at work eating in the car with my laptop in my lap working then as well. I was always trying to maximize every bit of spare time I had back then to turn my side hustle businesses until Full-Time entrepreneurship like I’ve currently done now... If I had to do it all over again I would. I fell in love with the journey, trusted the process, believed in myself and constantly invested in myself.... Now we are here.. Im just getting started.. There’s ALWAYS another level... I know I’ll be in a better financial and emotional place in 3 months, 6 months, a year... and that’s due to focus and intention. 🌱🌿🌳 . . .financialindependence financialfreedom personalfinance debtfreecommunity financialliteracy debtfreejourney investing budgeting money finance budget financialplanning financialeducation debtfree savings moneygoals investment moneymanagement financialgoals goals savingmoney passiveincome wealth debtfreegoals financialadvisor debtfreeliving retirement choosefi
