Last litter I started a YouTube playlist on day 2, lol. This doesn’t mean the new babies are getting any less attention!!! They are large! I haven’t been as diligent with daily weigh-ins with this litter, beyond the most fragile first two weeks, for a couple reasons. First I can see they’re growing and now I know form experience that if you’ve only got two kittens and the mom is getting good nutrition, they are unlikely to be less than giant, no matter the size of mom. Second I have a tiny digital scale which is fairly accurate but they’re already too big to balance on it. By the kitchen scale, he’s a pound today and she’s fourteen ounces.
She was propelling herself outside the bed before her eyes even opened. They will be getting more and more mobile in the next couple weeks. I use cardboard to give them safe, “mom can relax” roaming room. It’ll be an ever changing landscape in the “cat land” end of the hall for a couple months, while they grow.
Stay tuned to see whether they turn out to be Scottish Folds or Straights! The ears will fold or not at about four weeks old. catlady catmom scottishfold cat catslovers catsofinstagram pdx kittens newborn torbie ntheodorafelesia ntheodorafelisia pdx
