The tongue is the only muscle in the body that’s not attached at one end. That’s why it’s so hard to control. Especially for some people who just let their tongues go flippity-flap, all day long. Maybe they are scared of silence. I think it’s better to only speak when it’s important; that way people take everything you say more seriously. Like saying, “get off my tail,” or “my food bowl is empty,” or “that hand was NOT done petting me.” It’s important to advocate for yourself. You can also use your tongue to sing the songs of your peoples, like “it’s 3am, I must be lonely,” or “wheee, the people are getting out the crunchies!!”
But yeah, other than that, let your tongue rest. It’s got an important job.
