LITTLE JOYS - DAY 8
It's that time of the month! Not that! The other one. Where smiles fill your soul and warmth fills the wallet. Cue background music- *Kaasu, panam, dhuddu money money*. Call yourself an old CEO of a company, a freshly baked paid-intern, a fresher, a freelancer (okay maybe you folks won't relate to the timeline, but the emotion is still very relevant), a dude in mid/quarter/quarter-of-a-quarter life crisis, basically any employed person, the moment your ears receive the sweet message notification and your yearning eyes search for the numbers you desire and you discover your account credited with a lump of amount.
Pay day is a sweet day for any person. And it doesn't matter if it's the first salary or the last or the 263rd month of your loyal employment. It leaves you feeling richer than you were, because you do become richer than you were come income. Duh. I'm sure people originating from lower and middle class families will heavily relate with me. Till this date, I announce to my family (and probably my neighbors hear it too) that my salary is in and I do a little jump of joy.
Okay, payday is great, I get it that you get it and now want me to move on to the main content. Well, see you tomorrow then! This is little joy not big joy. I've not found gold in some hidden treasure box, there's no other main content. Payday is an emotion - a reward for all the hardwork you've put in for the entire month. If the month also brings in your bonus, then hurrah, go out and celebrate (not now ofcourse), because it's your years of effort. Money is the only TANGIBLE object that's a result for your incredible, honest, hard work and it helps to have a physically present reward. Money doesn't buy happiness, but when money is shared and is used to buy for others, it does bring happiness. Donate, buy small gifts for your loved ones, pamper yourself once in a while. Your wallet may end up feeling lighter, but so will your heart!UntilTomorrow !
