So I never actually introduced these girls. I was so upset at the situation with the foster and the shelter and the condition the girls were in I never made formal announcements. Then the tint tortie began fighting for her life and unfortunately did not make it so I kind of shoved all this aside. But with the incredible progress her sisters are making I feel I need to share them with the world. Even if our tiny tortie didn’t make it. So....meet Shirley and Laverne!
Shirley came to us dripping diarrhea...skin and bones...weighing 8oz. Today this beautiful girl weighs a whopping 1lb 9oz. She’s fat, healthy, eating great, and full of energy. We got her just in time.
Laverne is unfortunately losing both her eyes as soon as she is big enough and healthy enough to go under anesthesia. Our vet isn’t quite ready to put her under yet. She came to us weighing 7oz, dehydrated, not eating, battling a uri/pneumonia, lethargic, bubbling snot, and borderline dying. Today she weighs 1lb 1oz, is almost over all her respiratory issues, is fully hydrated and eating and drinking on her own (boy can this girl chow down!), and has started PLAYING!
Both these girls faced death and have come out stronger. I just wish their sister could have too. Laverne isn’t fully out of the woods as she still has to go through a bilateral eye enucleation but everyday they are with us and hanging on is a chance for them to not only survive but thrive.
Saving babies lien Shirley and Laverne would not be possible without YOU!
If anyone would like to make a donation towards the foster kittens care it would be greatly appreciated. Kitten season seems to never die down here in Florida and we are getting hit again with another wave.
We have updated our wishlist with our most needed items. Right now we are most in need of disposable litter boxes , Bergan turbo scratchers, paper towel, food/water feeder. We can also always use donations towards vet bills.
Thank you to all our supporters and donors, we couldn’t do this without your help!
