Do you train unilaterally? I love training this way for a number of reasons. But, if you have a weaker side then you definitely should be giving it a go. Add a few more reps on that side and you can start working to even things out. You don't need to add more weight, just add reps. If you're not sure whether you have a dominant side, TAKE VIDEO when you exercise. If a movement is hard for you sometimes watching yourself do it can help you figure out where there may be an imbalance. When you do a pullup is one side pulling better? When you do a pushup, is one shoulder coming up before the other? Get to know your body. You want them to be engaged throughout the session and end with them wanting more!⁣ ⁣ 🐾Mental stimulation can be having your dog work (do known cues, tricks, etc.) for their food versus putting it in the bowl, nose work games, make an obstacle course inside, a frozen stuffed Kong (peanut butter works great but make sure it does not have Xylitol in it, 100% peanut is best). ⁣ ⁣ 🐾Interactive toys like puzzles allow them a chance to use their problem solving abilities. Search interactive dog games on amazon or search the Canine Enrichment Group on Facebook for lots of DIY inspiration! ⁣ ⁣ 🐾Grooming — bathing, brushing, trim nails, practice handling exercises (like a veterinarian touch their paws, ears, tail, etc.) if you don’t do any of these PLEASE brush your dogs! Especially if you have a breed that requires regular grooming appointments like a poodle, their hair can become matted.
